On a cold autumnal night on the 8th, Totallywired's Anna Moulson entertained live in the studio local acoustic doowop Peggy Sue and the Pirates. We heard new releases by clinic, hawk and a hack saw, Resident's recommended and a very special ticket give away (the gig’s sold out) NME tour with the klaxons at the C2. We also let you know about a very special gig at the very same venue: Jarvis Cocker on the 7th of November. My Device and Stars Of Aviation both join us in the studio this week. Plus we present Science Ninja Team vs Marcus Hessenberg & the Tulips in the demo clash… have a Metway Session from Clearlake… and present Resident's recommended gig (Charlie Parr at Prince Albert), album (Bonnie Prince Billy's The Letting Go) and single (New Young Pony Club's Ice Cream)... And that's before we've even started on the pre-releases.

Celebrating a spectacular (300 bands, 30 venues 6 days!)Brighton Live 2006 with a 'tired and emotional' Lady Anna Moulson. Too many pre-releases to list on today’s show, but The Yong Knives, Bonnie Prince Billy, King Creosote and Micah P Hinson all feature. Also we have all the usual, including the demo lash (Pope Joan vs Sidewalk Ashes) and resident’s recommended gig (Gang Gang Dance @ Audio), single (Husky Rescue – My Ghost Home), album (Micah P Hinson & the Opera Circuit), and reissue (the Knife – Deep Cuts).

Beau, music promoter from the Providence, joins us to speak about Brighton Live, as do two acts performing in the festival: Strangea and Nat Jenkins. We also have the demo clash (Science Ninja Team vs Multicoloured Green) and Resident’s picks for the week’s best album (Sparklehorse), single (Tiny Dancers), and gig (Fionn Regan at Komedia). As many pre-releases as we can squeeze in too, of course… Marcus goes Bat For Lashes crazy on tonight’s show… Plus Resident’s album (Early Day Miners – Offshore), Single (Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hill), gig (!!! @ Concorde 2) and classic (Desmond Dekker – 007 Shanty Town) and too many pre-releases to mention. Sorry, no demo clash –“technical difficulties”!
